Second Stage Round 14: Perlas-MRU - Vytis 92-91

The most exciting game of round 14 in the NKL took place in Vilnius. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Vytis (28-10) to fifth ranked Perlas-MRU (20-18) 92-91 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 20-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Perlas-MRU forced 21 Vytis turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Vytis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard Margiris Normantas (194-96) who scored 42 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Forward Arnas Berucka (196-97) chipped in 12 points. Guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) produced 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Ignas Vaitkus (183-98) added 21 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Four Vytis players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Perlas-MRU moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Palanga. Vytis lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with ten games lost.
