Regular Season Round 21: Anadolu Univ. - Edremit 77-79

Eighth-ranked Anadolu Univ. (9-12) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Edremit (17-4) in Eskisehir on Saturday. The visitors from Balikesir managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected much easier game. 24 personal fouls committed by Anadolu Univ. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for guard Ilknur Dumlu (176-89) who led her team to a victory with 18 points and 5 rebounds. American center Chanita Jordan (196-87, college: Bowie St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. American forward Stacia Robertson (188-92, college: High Point) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds and forward Pinar Caliskan (173-93) added 18 points and 5 assists in the effort for Anadolu Univ.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Edremit have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place in Group A with 17-4 record having just two points less than leader Ormanspor. Anadolu Univ. at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Edremit are looking forward to face 55 Genclik (#4) in Samsun in the next round. Anadolu Univ. will play at home against Yalova Vip (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
