Regular Season Round 22: Demir IBB - Usak 80-83

A very close game took place in Buyukcekmece between Usak Sportlif and Demir IBB. Eighth ranked Usak Sportlif (11-11) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Demir IBB (9-12). Usak Sportlif managed to escape with a 3-point win 83-80 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 40-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Usak Sportlif made 10 blocks. American swingman Paul Harris (193-86, college: Syracuse) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Can Korkmaz (187-92, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 22 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) produced 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American point guard Erving Walker (173-90, college: Florida) added 13 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Four Usak Sportlif and five Demir IBB players scored in double figures. Usak Sportlif maintains eighth position with 11-11 record. Demir IBB lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 12 games lost. Usak Sportlif will meet at home higher ranked Karsiyaka (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Demir IBB will play against Royal Hali (#7) in Gaziantep and hope to secure a win.
