Second Stage Round 14: Zalgiris II - Suduva-Mantinga 65-83

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kaunas. First ranked Suduva-Mantinga faced 4th ranked Zalgiris II. Guests from Marijampole (33-5) defeated host Zalgiris II (19-19) 83-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zalgiris II. The game was mostly controlled by Suduva-Mantinga. Zalgiris II managed to win fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Zalgiris II outrebounded Suduva-Mantinga 45-28 including a 21-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) chipped in 20 points during the contest. Four Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Gytis Masiulis (202-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Laurynas Birutis (210-97) scored 18 points. Suduva-Mantinga have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 33-5 record. Loser Zalgiris II dropped to the sixth place with 19 games lost.
