Regular Season Round 22: Spartak Pleven - Levski 2014 78-82

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Spartak Pleven (10-12) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Levski 2014 (9-13) 82-78. It looked good early as Spartak Pleven took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Levski 2014 had a 23-17 second period charge getting the lead and Spartak Pleven was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-82. Levski 2014 forced 22 Spartak Pleven turnovers. Guard Evgeni Hadjirusev (193-95) notched 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Aleks Simeonov (200-93) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Levski 2014's coach Nikolay Gospodinov allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds by Montenegrin-Serbian center Milovan Savic (205-87) did not help to save the game for Spartak Pleven. Serbian guard Uros Velickovic (190-83) added 19 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Levski 2014 have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 9-13 record. Spartak Pleven lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. Levski 2014's next round opponent will be higher ranked Rilski (#4) in Samokov and it may be quite challenging game.
