Regular Season Round 32: Juventus - Zalgiris 65-88
Date: March 20, 2016
LKL top team - Zalgiris (25-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Juventus (15-13) in Utena 88-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Juventus. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. The winners were led by Australian power forward Brock Motum (208-90, college: Washington St.) who scored that evening 10 points and 9 rebounds and international point guard Lukas Lekavicius (180-94) supported him with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Zalgiris' coach Sarunas Jasikevicius felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 6 assists by naturalized Swiss guard Rolandas Alijevas (192-85) did not help to save the game for Juventus. American swingman Spencer Butterfield (190-92, college: Utah St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Defending champion maintains first position with 25-3 record. Juventus at the other side keeps the fifth place with 13 games lost. Zalgiris will play against bottom-ranked Dzukija (#10) in Alytus in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Juventus will play at home against Neptunas (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
