Regular Season Round 28: Mamak DSI - Tofas 74-102

Leader Tofas delivered the twenty sixth victory. This time they crushed 13th ranked Mamak DSI (11-17) 102-74 in Ankara. The game was mostly controlled by Tofas. Mamak DSI was better in fourth quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mamak DSI's 36. Tofas forced 20 Mamak DSI turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Kaya Peker (207-80, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Umit Sonkol (206-82) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Tofas players scored in double figures. Power forward Nezih Ozbakir (206-80) replied with 20 points and American power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St.) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mamak DSI. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tofas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 26-2 record. Mamak DSI at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Akhisar Bld. Tofas will play against Gediz (#5) at home in the next round. Mamak DSI will play against Afyon (#7) in Afyonkarahisar and hopes to get back on the winning track.
