Regular Season Round 22: Ormanspor - Fenerbahce 81-49

TKBL top team - Ormanspor (21-1) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Fenerbahce (7-15) in Ankara 81-49. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fenerbahce. The game was mostly controlled by Ormanspor. Fenerbahce was better in fourth quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Fenerbahce to just 5 points in third and fourth quarters. Ormanspor dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Fenerbahce's 28. They outrebounded Fenerbahce 35-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. Ormanspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Fenerbahce's players. DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Damla Gezgin (175-90) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Four Ormanspor players scored in double figures. Ormanspor's coach Furkan Saglik felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Swiss center Bilge Topaloglu (193-98) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and forward Merve Ari (175-98) scored 5 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Ormanspor have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 21-1 record. Loser Fenerbahce keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost.
