Regular Season Round 23: Beroe - Cherno More 80-60

Rather predictable result when third ranked Beroe (17-6) rolled over 5th ranked Cherno More (11-12) in Stara Zagora 80-60. It looked good early as Cherno More took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Beroe took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 20 points. They also forced 31 Cherno More turnovers. Beroe players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Ashton Moore (183-93, college: Citadel) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Stanislav Vaklinov (207-89, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 16 points and 4 steals. Beroe's coach Lubomir Minchev allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Simeon Iliev (204-89, agency: Interperformances) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Stanislav Tsonkov (192-91) scored 13 points. Beroe have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Balkan. Cherno More lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Spartak Pleven. Beroe will play against Spartak Pleven (#5) at home in the next round. Cherno More will play against the league's second-placed Balkan in Botevgrad and hopes to get back on the winning track.
