Regular Season Round 31: Kapfenberg - Wels 80-73

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Raiffeisen Wels (13-18) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (12-19) 80-73. Raiffeisen Wels were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 29-15 third quarter run of Kapfenberg Bulls. They outrebounded Raiffeisen Wels 41-24 including 18 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: N.C.Central) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. International Filip Kramer (202-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American guard DeJuan Wright (190-88, college: FIU, agency: Court Side) answered with 18 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Will Carter (200-88, college: San Jose St., agency: HMS) added 10 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Raiffeisen Wels. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kapfenberg Bulls moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Gmunden. Raiffeisen Wels at the other side keep the seventh position with 18 games lost. Kapfenberg Bulls' next round opponent will be higher ranked Vienna (#3) in Wien and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
