Very predictable result in Gaziantep where seventh ranked Royal Hali (13-10) defeated bottom-ranked Turk Telekom (5-17) 83-79. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-13. But Turk Telekom won second period 29-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Royal Hali won last quarter 20-17. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Turk Telekom's players. Point guard Can Ugur Ogut (178-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 7 assists. American-Bulgarian guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana) contributed with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Royal Hali players scored in double figures. Royal Hali's coach Stefanos Dedas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) answered with 28 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import power forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Turk Telekom. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Royal Hali. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Karsiyaka. Turk Telekom lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Royal Hali's next round opponent will be Istanbul BSB (#14) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Turk Telekom will play against the league's second-placed Fenerbahce Ulker and hope to win that game.
