Regular Season Round 33: Juventus - Neptunas 104-89

The game between third ranked Neptunas (16-14) and fifth ranked Juventus (16-14) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Neptunas was defeated by Juventus in Utena 104-89. Neptunas was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 34-18 charge of Juventus, which allowed them to win the game. They shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Juventus looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Spencer Butterfield (190-92, college: Utah St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who scored 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Edgaras Zelionis (201-89) chipped in 20 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke) who recorded 15 points and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four Juventus and five Neptunas players scored in double figures. Neptunas' coach Dainius Adomaitis rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Juventus moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Neptunas. Juventus is looking forward to face league's second-placed Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neptunas will play at home against the league's leader Zalgiris and is hoping to win this game.
