Regular Season Round 23: Mykolaiv - Khimik 79-81

Sixth-ranked Mykolaiv (13-17) gave a tough game to second ranked Khimik (24-4). The visitors from Yuzhny managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Mykolaiv took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Khimik took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 2 points. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Branden Frazier (190-92, college: Fordham) who led the winners and scored 20 points. Viacheslav Petrov (203-94) accounted for 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Oleksandr Tsikaliuk (204-93) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Vladyslav Tonchenko (185-89) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for Mykolaiv in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains second place with 24-4 record having six points less than leader SC Kryvbas. Mykolaiv lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 17 games lost.
