Second Stage Round 9: Montana 2003 - Neftochimic 90-67

The game between Top Four teams took place in Montana. First ranked host Montana 2003 (12-3) smashed 4th placed Neftochimic (5-10) 90-67. It looked good early as Neftochimic took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Montana 2003 had a 26-9 second period charge getting the lead and Neftochimic was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-90. Montana 2003 players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville, agency: Gamble Sports Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and her fellow American import guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) accounted for 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Montana 2003 players scored in double figures. Coach Stefan Mihaylov's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ukrainian power forward Olga Maznichenko (187-91, agency: LBM Management) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian guard Tamara Bajic (175-87) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Neftochimic in the defeat. Montana 2003 have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-3 record, which they share with Haskovo 2012. Neftochimic at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Montana 2003 will play against league's second-placed Haskovo 2012 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Neftochimic will play against Beroe and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
