Second Stage Round 9: Dunav 8806 - Haskovo 2012 72-99

The game between Top Four teams took place in Ruse. 3rd placed host Dunav 8806 (6-10) was smashed by second ranked Haskovo 2012 (12-3) 99-72. Haskovo 2012 dominated on the defensive end, holding Dunav 8806 to just 7 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Dunav 8806's 32 and made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They outrebounded Dunav 8806 43-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Haskovo 2012 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Mali forward Meiya Tirera (186-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Dominique Mosley (182, college: Missouri So.) chipped in 26 points and 11 rebounds. Haskovo 2012's coach Elena Stankova felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Tsvetomira Sharenkapova (184-91) with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Margarita Ilieva (187-88, agency: Promotex) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Haskovo 2012 and four Dunav 8806 players scored in double figures. Haskovo 2012 have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Montana 2003. Defending champion Dunav 8806 keeps the third place with ten games lost. Haskovo 2012 is looking forward to face league's leader Montana 2003 at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dunav 8806 will have a break next round.
