There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Pitesti (14-17) crushed at home 7th ranked Phoenix Galati (14-16) 106-87 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Phoenix Galati 33-22 including 20 on the defensive glass. American point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 4 assists. Serbian center Alexandar Mladenovic (207-84, agency: BeoExcell) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St.) replied with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Serbian forward Milos Pesic (205-84, agency: 011 Sports) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Phoenix Galati. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Phoenix Galati's coach Florin Nini tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Pitesti have an impressive five-game winning streak.
