An interesting game took place in Adana where higher ranked Botas (10-14) was upset on its own court by twelfth ranked Yakin Dogu (9-16) 76-67 on Wednesday. Yakin Dogu dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Botas' 42. They outrebounded Botas 42-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Yakin Dogu looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Alyssa Thomas (188-92, college: Maryland) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and her fellow American import center Kelsey Bone (193-91, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Greek forward Evanthia Maltsi (180-78, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 19 points and 8 assists and American power forward Avery Warley (190-87, college: Liberty) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Yakin Dogu moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Botas keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Yakin Dogu will face higher ranked Canik Bld (#7) in Samsun in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
