Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Istanbul: Galatasaray (#4) and Istanbul Uni (#6). Istanbul Uni was defeated at home 67-74 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Galatasaray dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Istanbul Uni's 28. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Jewell Loyd (178-93, college: Notre Dame) nailed 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Belgian center Ann Wauters (194-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 13 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Tan White (170-82, college: Mississippi St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Bosnian-Serbian guard Sasa Cado (178-89) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Istanbul Uni in the defeat. Galatasaray have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion (17-6) moved-up to third place. Istanbul Uni at the other side keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Canik Bld. Galatasaray will play against Besiktas (#10) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul Uni will play on the road against the league's leader Fenerbahce (#1) in Istanbul and hopes to get back on the winning track.
