The game between second ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart (19-14) and seventh ranked Raiffeisen Wels (15-18) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Redwell Gunners Oberwart was defeated by Raiffeisen Wels in Oberwart 67-77. The game was mostly controlled by Raiffeisen Wels. Redwell Gunners Oberwart managed to win second period 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Raiffeisen Wels dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Redwell Gunners Oberwart's 32. They outrebounded Redwell Gunners Oberwart 40-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Will Carter (200-88, college: San Jose St., agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Devante Wallace (196-92, college: High Point) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) answered with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Georg Wolf (188-95) added 15 points in the effort for Redwell Gunners Oberwart. Raiffeisen Wels moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Furstenfeld. Redwell Gunners Oberwart lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with 14 games lost. Raiffeisen Wels is looking forward to face Gmunden Swans (#9) in Gmunden in the next round. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will play on the road against Vienna (#3) in Wien and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
