Second Stage Round 9: Gaz Metan - Pitesti 80-101

12th ranked Gaz Metan (5-26) was outscored at home by ninth ranked Pitesti (15-17) with the biggest margin this round 101-80. The game was mostly controlled by Pitesti. Gaz Metan was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pitesti forced 21 Gaz Metan turnovers and had a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pitesti have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Gaz Metan at the other side stay dead last with 26 lost games. Pitesti's next round opponent will be BC Timisoara (#10) at home. Gaz Metan will play against Phoenix Galati and hope to win that game.
