Second Stage Round 13: Chaika - Frankivsk 80-72

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Berdiansk where 4th placed Frankivsk (8-4) was defeated by fifth ranked Chaika (7-6) 80-72 on Saturday. Frankivsk trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 23-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-80 at the end of the game. Chaika made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International center Olga Yatskovets (183-97) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her seven free throws) for the winners and Anastasiya Polovynka (180-96) chipped in 24 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side international forward Darya Zavidna (185-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and Anna Stafiuk produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Chaika maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Frankivsk at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
