Fifteenth-ranked Konyaspor (6-17) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Banvit BK (15-9) in Balikesir on Sunday. Banvit BK managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90. However their fans expected much easier game. Banvit BK outrebounded Konyaspor 33-19 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Polish point guard A.J. Slaughter (191-87, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 assists and French Adrien Moerman (202-88) who added 12 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Banvit BK's coach Selcuk Ernak used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American-Bosnian guard Ernest Bremer (194-80, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Higher Vision Sports) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American guard Dionte Christmas (196-86, college: Temple) scored 20 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Banvit BK maintains fifth position with 15-9 record. Konyaspor lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 17 games lost. Banvit BK will meet higher ranked Galatasaray (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Konyaspor will play against Demir IBB (#10) and hope to secure a win.
