Second Stage Round 13: DVUFK - Frankivsk 75-54

There was an upset in Dnepropetrovsk where 4th placed Frankivsk (8-4) was crushed by eighth ranked DVUFK (1-10) 75-54 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by DVUFK. Frankivsk was better in second period 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. DVUFK forced 22 Frankivsk turnovers. Swingman Viola Onyshchenko (181-90) stepped up and scored 31 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and center Anna Kiriyenko (190-93) chipped in 19 points and 17 rebounds. DVUFK's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Tetyana Gaiv (180-88) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and forward Viktoriya Karyeva (187-92) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. DVUFK left bottom position moving up to seventh place. Frankivsk at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
