We should mention about the upset which took place in Lefkosa, where higher ranked Canik Bld (12-14) lost to eleventh ranked Yakin Dogu (10-16) in a road game 81-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Canik Bld. Yakin Dogu dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Canik Bld's 42. American forward Alyssa Thomas (188-92, college: Maryland) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: Connecticut) supported her with 25 points. Even a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds by Montenegrin power forward Iva Perovanovic (188-83) did not help to save the game for Canik Bld. American guard Essence Carson (183-86, college: Rutgers) added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Yakin Dogu have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Besiktas. Canik Bld at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost.
