Regular Season Round 30: Mamak DSI - Socar Petkim 79-75

There was a surprise result in Ankara where fourteenth ranked Mamak DSI (12-18) won against higher ranked Socar Petkim (14-16) 79-75 on Friday. Socar Petkim was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-16 charge of Mamak DSI, which allowed them to win the game. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St.) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Hazer Avci (206-87, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Mamak DSI's coach Haydar Kemal Ates used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American point guard Josh Selby (188-91, college: Kansas) with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Bora Pacun (210-87) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mamak DSI moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Loser Socar Petkim keeps the eighth position with 16 games lost. Mamak DSI will face league's second-placed Acibadem in Istanbul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
