Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Pertevniyal (13-17) was edged on the road by third ranked Denizli (22-8) 71-68 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 18-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Mustafa Bakir Gorur (204-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Damontre Harris (208-91, college: Campbellsville) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and international center Emircan Kosut (216-95) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. Denizli have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Acibadem. Loser Pertevniyal keeps the tenth position with 17 games lost. Denizli will face Meliksah (#10) in Kayseri in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pertevniyal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Istanbul DSI.
