Second Stage Round 9: Kakanj - Mladost 90-67

The game between second ranked Mladost (4-5) and fourth ranked Kakanj (4-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Mladost was crushed by Kakanj in Kakanj 90-67. It was a key game for the second position in I. Kakanj dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Mladost's 32. Kakanj forced 19 Mladost turnovers and outrebounded them 40-19 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Center Obrad Tomic (206-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and Serbian guard Pavle Boljkovac (190-85) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Kakanj players scored in double figures. Kakanj's coach Josip Pandza felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Serbian guard Vojin Svilar (187-86, college: W.Georgia, agency: BeoExcell) with 18 points and 5 assists and Serbian Marko Jeremic (192-91) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Kakanj moved-up to second place in I. Kakanj are looking forward to face Siroki Primorka (#5) in Siroki Brijeg in the next round. Mladost will play at home against Gradjanski and is hoping to win this game.
