The game in Porto was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Benfica B (8-7) played at the court of 6th ranked Vasco (5-11). Benfica B managed to secure a 8-point victory 78-70. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-15. But Vasco won second period 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Benfica B won last quarter 24-17. They made 28-of-34 charity shots (82.4 percent) during the game. Benfica B outrebounded Vasco 51-32 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vasco was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Sergio Silva (193-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Slovenian guard Aljaz Slutej (188-96) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Benfica B's coach Joao Tavares allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Miguel Toreia (180-93) replied with 20 points and 6 assists and swingman Fabio Bem (188-85) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Vasco. Benfica B maintains fourth position with 8-7 record. Vasco at the other side keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. Benfica B will play against league's leader Illiabum in Ilhavo in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Vasco will play at home against Atletico (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
