Regular Season Round 25: Usak - Turk Telekom 95-79

Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Turk Telekom (5-19) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Usak Sportlif (13-12) 95-79 on Sunday. Usak Sportlif made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Usak Sportlif outrebounded Turk Telekom 46-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Turk Telekom was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Paul Harris (193-86, college: Syracuse) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Canadian center Khem Birch (208-92, college: UNLV) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Four Usak Sportlif players scored in double figures. American swingman Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) produced 28 points and the other American import Marcus Haislip (208-80, college: Tennessee) added 18 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Usak Sportlif moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Royal Hali. Turk Telekom lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Usak Sportlif will face Istanbul BSB (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Turk Telekom's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ankara TED Kolejliler.
