LKL top team - Zalgiris (29-3) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked P.Zvaigzdes (10-22) in Kaunas 93-88. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-88. Zalgiris made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Edgaras Ulanovas (197-92) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Latvian point guard Kaspars Vecvagars (193-93) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Zalgiris' coach Sarunas Jasikevicius allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Ukrainian Andriy Agafonov (208-86) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Zalgiris. Defending champion maintains first place with 29-3 record. P.Zvaigzdes lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 22 games lost. Zalgiris will meet at home Nevezis (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. P.Zvaigzdes will play against Dzukija and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
