No shocking result in a game in Dnipropetrovsk where second ranked SDYUSHOR-5 (7-3) defeated 8th ranked Politekhnika (3-10) 72-57 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 17 points at the halftime before their 49-17 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. SDYUSHOR-5 dominated on the defensive end, holding Politekhnika to just 6 points in third quarter. They also forced 20 Politekhnika turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Oksana Fastova (168-99) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Pasiko Hvichiani (-0) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. SDYUSHOR-5's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Irina Maksimenko (168-97) who recorded 21 points and 4 assists and Anastasia Franchuk added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively. They have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted SDYUSHOR-5 maintains second place with 7-3 record having eight points less than leader Interkhim. Politekhnika lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. SDYUSHOR-5 will face SDYUSHOR-4 (#3) in Mykolaiv in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
