Very expected game in Istanbul where 14th ranked Yesilgiresun (8-17) was defeated by first ranked Anadolu Efes (20-4) 89-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Anadolu Efes. Yesilgiresun was better in fourth quarter 25-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. French point guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: Beo Basket) fired 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. International forward Cedi Osman (204-95) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Bulgarian power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and American-Ivorian guard Doron Perkins (189-83, college: Santa Clara) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Five Yesilgiresun players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anadolu Efes have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 20-4 record. Yesilgiresun lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Anadolu Efes will face Royal Hali (#7) in Gaziantep in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Yesilgiresun will play at home against Banvit BK (#5) and hope to win that game.
