Regular Season Round 26: Istanbul BSB - Usak 88-95

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Usak Sportlif (14-12) defeated on the road 12th ranked Istanbul BSB (8-18) 95-88 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Usak Sportlif made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game, while Istanbul BSB only scored nine points from the stripe. Istanbul BSB was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Paul Harris (193-86, college: Syracuse) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import Andre Harris (201-85, college: Fair Dickinson) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Swedish-Croatian power forward Damir Markota (209-85, agency: XL Basketball Agency) replied with 25 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) added 22 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Istanbul BSB. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Istanbul BSB's coach Ertugrul Erdogan rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Usak Sportlif moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Royal Hali. Loser Istanbul BSB dropped to the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Usak Sportlif will face Trabzonspor (#11) at home in the next round. Istanbul BSB will play against TED Kolejliler in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
