Second Stage Round 15: Interkhim - Frankivsk 81-53

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Odessa. First ranked Interkhim faced 4th placed Frankivsk. Host Interkhim (13-2) smashed guests from Ivano-Frankivsk (8-7) 81-53. The game was mostly controlled by Interkhim. Frankivsk was better in second period 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Interkhim dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Frankivsk's 18. Interkhim forced 22 Frankivsk turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Frankivsk's players. It was a good game for Arina Bilotserkivska (-89) who led her team to a victory with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals. Guard Natalia Kolotovska (174-90) contributed with 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five Interkhim players scored in double figures. Interkhim's coach Iryna Shchipakina felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International forward Darya Zavidna (185-93) answered with 12 points and 6 rebounds and forward Tetyana Gaiv (180-88) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Frankivsk. Interkhim maintains first place with 13-2 record. Frankivsk lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
