Second Stage Round 15: LDUFK-Skif - ONMU-Vimar 72-60

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Lviv where 4th placed ONMU-Vimar (5-6) was defeated by fifth ranked LDUFK-Skif (4-5) 72-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by LDUFK-Skif. ONMU-Vimar was better in third quarter 18-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. LDUFK-Skif had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was center Kateryna Skakalina (185-97) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Anzhelika Zvolyak chipped in 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Anastasia Usova (185-90) who recorded 22 points and 5 rebounds and forward Xenia Klimenko (180-94) added 13 points and 12 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. LDUFK-Skif maintains fifth place with 4-5 record. Loser ONMU-Vimar keeps the fourth position with six games lost. LDUFK-Skif will face Kondicioner (#7) in Kharkov in the next round. ONMU-Vimar will play at home against Poltavshina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
