Second Stage Round 15: SDYUSHOR-5 - HAI 71-66

Undefeated HAI (12-1) recorded its first loss in Dnipropetrovsk on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked SDYUSHOR-5 (7-3) 71-66. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of HAI. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 22-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. SDYUSHOR-5 made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Strangely HAI outrebounded SDYUSHOR-5 45-24 including a 23-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was point guard Oksana Fastova (168-99) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Pasiko Hvichiani (-0) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Alona Samokhvalova (182-97) who recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds and center Viktoria Lozgachova (181-85) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively. SDYUSHOR-5 have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted SDYUSHOR-5 maintains second place with 7-3 record having eight points less than leader Interkhim. HAI at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still keeps top position with one game lost. SDYUSHOR-5 are looking forward to face SDYUSHOR-4 (#3) in Mykolaiv in the next round, which may be the game of the day. HAI will play at home against LDUFK-Skif and is hoping to win this game.
