Neuchatel held off Massagno to take 1-0 lead in the series. Massagno was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Neuchatel made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) stepped up and scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American power forward James Mathis (200-84, college: Niagara, agency: Court Side) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds.
