Regular Season Round 26: Spartak Pleven - Yambol 97-84

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Spartak Pleven (12-14) won against at home 8th ranked Yambol (7-19) 97-84. It looked good early as Yambol took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Spartak Pleven took control winning next two quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 13 points. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Yambol was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Dimitar Marincheshki (200-90) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian guard Uros Velickovic (190-83) chipped in 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five Spartak Pleven players scored in double figures. Serbian point guard Milijan Bocka (185-82) responded with 27 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and guard Stanislav Govedarov (185-80) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Spartak Pleven moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cherno More. Yambol at the other side keeps the eighth position with 19 games lost. Spartak Pleven will play against league's leader Lukoil Acad. in Sofia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Yambol will play on the road against Levski 2014 (#7) in Sofia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
