Regular Season Round 37: Juventus - Vytautas 88-61

The game between third ranked Vytautas (19-15) and fourth ranked Juventus (18-16) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Vytautas was crushed by Juventus in Utena 61-88. The game was mostly controlled by Juventus. Vytautas managed to win second period 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Juventus looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Egidijus Dimsa (204-85) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Spencer Butterfield (190-92, college: Utah St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Juventus players scored in double figures. Tauras Jogela (202-93, agency: Players Group) answered with 16 points and forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) added 14 points in the effort for Vytautas. Vytautas' coach Virginijus Seskus gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Juventus maintains fourth place with 18-16 record. Vytautas at the other side keeps the third position with 15 games lost. Juventus are looking forward to face Siauliai (#6) on the road in the next round. Vytautas will play against the league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
