Regular Season Round 26: Demir IBB - Galatasaray 94-89

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Demir IBB (13-13) beat higher ranked Galatasaray (18-8) in Buyukcekmece 94-89 on Sunday. Demir IBB dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Galatasaray's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American point guard Erving Walker (173-90, college: Florida, agency: Two Points) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. International Sinan Guler (192-83, college: Carroll, MT, agency: 1x1 Sports) replied with 19 points and 6 assists and American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Galatasaray. Five Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Galatasaray's coach Ergin Ataman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Demir IBB have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Besiktas. Loser Galatasaray keeps the third position with eight games lost. Demir IBB will face higher ranked Banvit BK (#5) in Balikesir in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Galatasaray will play at home against Karsiyaka and hope to win that game.
