The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Anadolu Efes (21-5) in Istanbul on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Royal Hali (14-12) in overtime 99-96. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 21-13 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 0-point victory in overtime. American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: N.Carolina) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Canadian-American guard Andrew Rautins (193-86, college: Syracuse) contributed with 27 points for the winners. Four Royal Hali players scored in double figures. French point guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 35 points (!!!) and 6 assists and Uruguayan-Italian point guard Jayson Granger (188-89) added 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Anadolu Efes. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Royal Hali moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Usak. Anadolu Efes at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Royal Hali is looking forward to face Yesilgiresun (#12) in Giresun in the next round where they are favorite. Anadolu Efes will play on the road against the league's second-placed Fenerbahce Ulker (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
