There was an upset when higher ranked Darussafaka (17-9) lost to tenth ranked Besiktas (13-13) in Istanbul 74-80 on Monday. Darussafaka was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 9 assists. Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American Luke Harangody (202-88, college: Notre Dame, agency: Priority Sports) replied with 16 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Jamon Lukas Gordon (191-84, college: Virginia Tech) added 8 points, 8 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Darussafaka. Darussafaka's coach Oktay Mahmudi rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Besiktas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Demir IBB. Loser Darussafaka keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Besiktas will face Konyaspor (#15) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Darussafaka will play against Turk Telekom (#16) and hope to win that game.
