Regular Season Round 27: Chernomorets - Cherno More 72-89

Not a big story in a game in Burgas where 10th ranked Chernomorets (2-25) was defeated by sixth ranked Cherno More (13-14) 89-72. It looked good early as Chernomorets took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cherno More had a 27-13 second period charge getting the lead and Chernomorets was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-89. Cherno More dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Chernomorets' 34. They outrebounded Chernomorets 44-29 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cherno More players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Simeon Iliev (204-89, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized Cypriot guard Angel Natskin (184-93) accounted for 23 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Serbian power forward Ilija Cvetkovic (207-88) came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds and forward Boyan Tenev (204-88, college: Lincoln Memorial) added 18 points respectively for Chernomorets in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Chernomorets' coach Radostin Ivanov rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Cherno More moved-up to fifth place. Chernomorets lost fifteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games.
