Regular Season Round 27: Spartak Pleven - Lukoil Acad. 76-127

NBL top team - Lukoil Acad. (25-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Spartak Pleven (12-15) 127-76. The game without a history. Lukoil Acad. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 48. They outrebounded Spartak Pleven 42-15 including a 34-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lukoil Acad. players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Spartak Pleven's players. It was a quality performance for Montenegrin power forward Filip Barovic (207-90, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Kris Minkov (199-94) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Lukoil Acad.'s coach Toni Dechev felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Dimitar Marincheshki (200-90) came up with 23 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian guard Uros Velickovic (190-83) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively for Spartak Pleven in the defeat. Five Lukoil Acad. and four Spartak Pleven players scored in double figures. Lukoil Acad. have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 25-2 record. Spartak Pleven at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 15 games lost.
