Regular Season Round 31: Brose Bask. - Braunschweig 92-68
Date: April 22, 2016
BBL top team - Brose Baskets (27-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Braunschweig (13-18) in Bamberg 92-68. The game was mostly controlled by Brose Baskets. Braunschweig was better in third quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brose Baskets had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for Italian Nicolo Melli (205-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 6 rebounds. International Daniel Theis (204-92, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. At the losing side Robin Amaize (188-94, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 12 points and 5 assists and American forward Tyrone Nash (203-88, college: Notre Dame, agency: HMS) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 27-3 record. Braunschweig at the other side keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Phoenix Hagen. Brose Baskets will play against league's second-placed Bayern Muenchen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Braunschweig will play against Walter Tigers (#14) in Tuebingen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
