Second Stage Round 16: Poltavshina - SDYUSHOR-4 59-79

The game in Poltava supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked SDYUSHOR-4 (8-6) played at the court of 5th ranked Poltavshina (6-11). SDYUSHOR-4 did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 79-59. It looked good early as Poltavshina took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then SDYUSHOR-4 had a 19-6 second period charge getting the lead and Poltavshina was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-79. SDYUSHOR-4 dominated on the defensive end, holding Poltavshina to just 6 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Poltavshina's 38. SDYUSHOR-4 forced 28 Poltavshina turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Natalia Veselova (172-97) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and guard Nika Korinna (170-96) who added 28 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Tatiana Zozulia (180-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Khrystyna Yarych (-0) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. SDYUSHOR-4 have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-6 record having five points less than leader Interkhim, which they share with Chaika and Frankivsk. Poltavshina at the other side keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. SDYUSHOR-4 will play against SDYUSHOR-5 (#3) in Dnipropetrovsk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Poltavshina will have a break next round.
