Regular Season Round 27: Royal Hali - Yesilgiresun 73-82

An interesting game took place in Gaziantep where higher ranked Royal Hali (14-13) was upset on its own court by twelfth ranked Yesilgiresun (10-17) 82-73. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Royal Hali won second period 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Yesilgiresun made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Royal Hali helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Bulgarian power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Tony Crocker (200-87, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Yesilgiresun players scored in double figures. American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: N.Carolina) answered with 25 points and 8 rebounds and American-Bulgarian guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana) added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for Royal Hali. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Yesilgiresun maintains twelfth place with 10-17 record. Royal Hali at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. Yesilgiresun's next round opponent will be higher ranked Demir IBB (#9) in Buyukcekmece and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
