There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Gelisim (15-17) lost to tenth ranked Pertevniyal (15-17) in Istanbul 63-73. The game was mostly controlled by Pertevniyal. Gelisim was better in second period 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Berk Demir (203-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Four Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. Pertevniyal's coach Bilal Han Duru allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Royce Woolridge (190-92, college: Grand Canyon) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Pertevniyal moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Gelisim. Pertevniyal's next round opponent will be Meliksah (#11) in Kayseri.
