Regular Season Round 27: Usak - Trabzonspor 94-86
Date: April 24, 2016
Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Usak Sportlif (15-12) defeated at home 11th ranked Trabzonspor (11-15) 94-86 on Sunday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-16. But Trabzonspor won second period 26-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Trabzonspor was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American swingman Paul Harris (193-86, college: Syracuse) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 19 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American swingman Courtney Fells (196-86, college: N.Carolina St.) with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Polish power forward Damian Kulig (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Trabzonspor's coach Ahmet Kandemir let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Usak Sportlif have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Banvit BK. Loser Trabzonspor keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Usak Sportlif will face league's leader Anadolu Efes in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
