Very expected game in Istanbul where 16th ranked Turk Telekom (6-21) was defeated by fourth ranked Darussafaka (18-9) 76-69 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. It was a great evening for American Luke Harangody (202-88, college: Notre Dame, agency: Priority Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jamon Lukas Gordon (191-84, college: Virginia Tech) helped adding 7 points and 6 rebounds. Four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. Darussafaka's coach Oktay Mahmudi used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) with 20 points and the former international swingman Evren Buker (195-85) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Darussafaka maintains fourth place with 18-9 record. Loser Turk Telekom stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Darussafaka's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Istanbul BSB.
